Illustrated instructions make loading your wagon a breeze, and there's an instructional video for those explorers who hate to read rules! | Strategic gameplay with unpredictable action Once your wagon is loaded, it's time to hit the trail! On their turn, players will discover a part of the trail, may draw a calamity card, and will take up to 3 actions: move, hunt, buy, pick up hitchhikers or sell. They may also choose to trade or cross a river as they continue their journey. | Watch out for calamities! Disaster is inevitable on the trail, but in some cases, it can be avoided. Cards will explain what action must be taken to avoid the calamity, like reaching a Fort on your turn or using medicine to keep your family member alive. Dead family members are placed on the trail with the headstone facing up - RIP! | Winning the game Once a player's wagon reaches Willamette Valley or the last trail tile is placed on the board, play continues until the end of that round, signifying the end of the game. Players calculate their money, including adding dollars for healthy family members and deducting dollars for funeral expenses. The player with the most money is the winner! |
