Site BoardsImhotep: A New Dynasty introduces five new double-sided site boards to the game. Now, for each board type (Market, Pyramid, Temple, Burial Chamber, Obelisks) there are FOUR different sides (A and B from the base game, and C and D from the expansion). Before each game, you can decide which side of each board type to use, and you can also mix them however you like! The C and D sides offer different building and scoring rules for their respective site boards. | Market CardsThe expansion includes 14 new market cards that offer even more variety for the Market site board. These cards can simply be mixed into the market card pile from the base game. Additionally, A New Dynasty introduces 7 prophecies of the gods cards and scarab tokens, which constitute an optional expansion module. If you choose to use them, they allow you to place a wager on, or make a prophecy about, the success of your constructions. | New Game FiguresThe new Temple board incorporates an additional way to score more points--a chariot race! When using this board, each player gets a chariot figure to participate in the race. Additionally, the new Pyramid board incorporates a wooden Imhotep figure, which can be moved around this site board and affect the number of points players can earn: each time a player takes new stones from the quarry as their action, he or she may decide whether to leave the Imhotep figure on its current space on the Pyramid board, or move it to a different space. Stones cannot be unloaded onto a space the Imhotep figure is occupying, so moving the figure can result in different point values each player can earn! |
About the base game: Imhotep - Builder of Egypt
Players take on the role of ancient Egyptian architects. Over six rounds, they try to transport stone blocks to end up in the most valuable positions at five construction sites, while thwarting their opponents' efforts to do the same. To win the game and be named the greatest architect, you must get your blocks to the right place places, in the right order, at the right time. In this game of action selection and block placement, strategic skills are key! During each turn you must weigh your options: is it more important to get your own stones into place, or to thwart your opponents' plans? Imhotep is a great choice for kids, families, and adults alike! It's popular among many a seasoned gamer, but it's also a great 'gateway game' to introduce newer players to the world of modern board games.
